Dr. Anna-Esther Younes is a scholar of race critical theories, using psychoanalytic approaches and post-/colonial theory. In 2016, she received a summa cum laude for her PhD thesis “Race, Colonialism and the Figure of the Jew in a New Germany” from IHEID (Geneva, CH, 2015). Younes defines her work through the (anthropological) concept of “researching home” and “researching up to power” and is currently a Postdoctoral researcher at the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands. She also holds the position of a lay judge in Berlin's youth court. Her academic, journalistic and policy work can be found on academia.edu.
